Tables, lists, and imports

Filter like a spreadsheet, save views, bring in your old data, and clean it up without fear.

About 12 minutes · Your people

Every list in TenthAvenue (contacts, companies, deals, invoices, investors) runs on the same table. Learn it once and you know it everywhere. This guide covers filtering, saved views, getting your old data in, and cleaning it up without holding your breath.

1The table basics

Columns
Drag a header to reorder. Drag its edge to resize. Pin the ones you want to stay put while you scroll sideways. Every field, including your custom fields, can be a column.
Density
Three row heights, including a single-line mode that keeps every row to exactly one line no matter how many tags a record carries. A big book scans like a spreadsheet.
Live updates
When a teammate edits a row, or a form adds one, your screen updates within a second. There is no refresh button because you don't need one. If you're mid-edit on a row, it politely waits.
Row actions
Hover a row for quick actions. Press it to open the record card.

2Filter like a sentence

  1. Press Filter and pick a field. The picker is searchable and keeps your recent fields on top.
  2. Pick the value from your real data. Value lists show what's actually in your book, with live counts. You click the value, you never guess the spelling.
  3. Stack filters into chips. Each filter is a readable chip like "Tags has Alpha Maven". Remove one with its x. The advanced any/all grouping is one click away when you need it.

Ask Sam
investors in Texas added this month
Type a question and it becomes the chips above, editable.
Filter chips read like sentences. Sam can build them for you too.
The search box on every table doubles as an assistant. Type a plain question like "deals over 50k closing this quarter" and Sam turns it into visible filter chips you can tweak by hand. You always see exactly what it understood.

3Save views for the ways you work

  1. Arrange the table how you like it. Columns, sort, filters, density. The table remembers your layout automatically, per person, across devices.
  2. Save it as a named view. Views like "My hot investors" or "Renewals this quarter" sit in tabs above the table.
  3. Share a view with the org. Shared views keep everyone looking at the same slice the same way.

4Bring your data in

  1. Open Contacts (or Companies) and press Import. Drop a CSV or Excel file. Columns are detected and matched automatically, and anything unmatched gets a searchable picker with "create new field" right at the top.
  2. Answer the ownership question. Every import asks who should own these records. It defaults to you, and a mapped Owner column in your file still wins per row.
  3. Pick a duplicate mode. Match by email or phone, then choose whether existing records get updated or skipped. The results screen tells you exactly what happened.
Full Name columns
A single name column splits into first and last on its own, and it handles "Lastname, Firstname", honorifics, suffixes, and surnames like van Beethoven.
Two emails in one cell
Paste "kathyn@, patrickn@" style cells and the first becomes the main email while the rest file into secondary emails. Nothing is thrown away.
Companies-only import
Import a spreadsheet of firms without creating phantom people. Optionally map a contact-email column when you do want the people too.

5Move in from HubSpot, Pipedrive, or Mailchimp

Leaving another platform? You don't need to export and re-import anything. Open Settings, then Integrations, and each migration runs from one key with a live progress view. All three are safe to re-run: records update instead of duplicating, so you can migrate today and top up after your final cutover.

HubSpot
Connect once and bring the whole portal: CRM records, deals, payment history, activity, and templates, with every property mapped in the background.
Pipedrive
Paste your API token (Pipedrive shows it under personal preferences) and everything comes across: contacts, organizations, deals with their pipelines and stages recreated exactly, leads, activities, notes, and custom fields with their dropdown choices. Owners map to your teammates by email, and still-open to-dos arrive as real tasks with their due dates.
Mailchimp
Paste your API key and your audiences arrive with merge fields, tags, and groups intact. Your sending history comes too: each past campaign's design lands in Megaphone as a reusable template, and every contact's timeline shows which campaigns they received, opened, and clicked. Unsubscribed and hard-bounced addresses arrive permanently suppressed, so a migrated list can never damage your sending reputation.

6Clean up without fear

Bulk editor
Select rows (or everything matching a filter) and set fields, tags, owners, or relationship in one pass. Owner changes can round-robin across teammates. Every bulk edit shows a preview first and carries a 24-hour undo.
Sam bulk commands
Type the change in plain English ("tag everyone from this import as Conference") and approve the preview.
Duplicates
The data health hub finds likely duplicates. Merging keeps every email and phone number from both records. Nothing is lost in a merge.
Data health
A live hygiene score with one-click fixes: invalid emails to review, missing fields AI can fill, and your consent coverage.

7Get data out

  1. Press Export on any table. You get a CSV of exactly the columns and filters you're looking at, or your selection.
  2. No plan gates. Export works on every plan, including Free. Your data is yours.

8Lists and segments

Static lists
A hand-picked set of people. Add and remove members yourself.
Smart lists
A saved filter that stays current on its own. "Investors in Texas who opened an email this month" updates itself as people qualify. Campaigns and automations can target either kind.
