Megaphone: email campaigns

Describe the email you want, shape it block by block, and send it from your own domain.

About 15 minutes · Reaching out

Megaphone sends real email campaigns: newsletters, announcements, invitations, updates. You describe the email once and Sam writes a full branded draft. Then you stay in charge: click any part of it and edit it directly, like a document, not a prompt. It sends from your own domain, and every open, click, and reply writes back to the person's record.

1Before your first campaign

  1. Verify your sending domain. Settings, then Email. Campaigns only send from a domain you've verified, so this comes first. The workspace guide walks it step by step.
  2. Have an audience. All contacts, a list, or a smart segment. The Tables guide covers lists.

2Write an email with Sam

  1. Open Megaphone and press New email.
  2. Describe it in a sentence. "Tell investors the Q3 distribution is on the way, link the statement, keep it warm." Attach your real photos and logos if you want them in the email; the AI embeds the actual files, never placeholders.
  3. Pick what kind of email it is. Newsletter, announcement, event invite, digest, re-engage, or letter. The draft takes that shape. Leave it on "Let Sam pick" and layouts rotate so consecutive sends don't converge on one template.
  4. Click anything to change it. Click a headline, a paragraph, a button, a photo, and edit it in place. A floating toolbar moves, duplicates, or deletes blocks. The + between blocks inserts new content or asks Sam to write one block right there.
  5. Rewrite just one block. Each block has its own AI actions: shorten, expand, friendlier, more direct, or your own instruction. The rest of the email doesn't move.

Looks
Six real styles (Brand classic, Editorial, Boardroom, Vibrant, Midnight, Letter) rendered from your actual logo and colors. Restyle the whole email in one click without changing a word.
Merge fields
Insert {{first_name}} and any custom field from a one-click picker. The Filled preview shows the email exactly as a sample recipient will read it.
Versions
Every Sam turn and style change becomes a checkpoint saved with the email. Preview any version and restore it. Restoring never destroys anything.
Your images
Up to 12 photos and logos per email. A 6MB phone photo becomes a fast-loading email image automatically, and everything lands in a reusable library.

3Send it, or schedule it

  1. Pick the audience. All contacts, a list, or a smart segment. The preview shows the real count, minus anyone excluded for safety.
  2. Run the checks. Spam triggers, phone rendering, and Gmail's clipping limit are checked against the exact email that would send, each with a one-click fix.
  3. Send now or schedule. Scheduling picks a date and time in your timezone, and the audience re-resolves at send time so the list is current. A scheduled campaign can be cancelled or sent now from its page.
  4. Watch the numbers. Delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, complained, unsubscribed, per campaign and per person.

4The safety net (why your email lands)

The reputation firewall
If your recent bounce or complaint rate crosses the danger line, sending pauses and the message quotes the exact number that tripped it. If you've genuinely cleaned your list, you can confirm and send anyway; the override is recorded and every other check still runs.
Bad lists get caught early
Never-emailed addresses are validated at send time and confirmed-dead domains are excluded with counts shown. A big cold import sends to a sample first, and the rest releases only after the sample bounces come back clean.
Unsubscribes and consent
One-click unsubscribe with undo, a hosted preference center, double opt-in links, and a consent ledger that can prove every subscribe and unsubscribe. This runs itself.
Login codes are safe
Receipts and sign-in codes ride a separate transactional lane. A marketing hiccup can never take down the mail that keeps people signed in.

5Set-and-forget email

Moments
Automatic birthday, holiday, and first-investment-anniversary greetings. They ship to every workspace switched off; turn on the ones you like and edit the wording to sound like you.
System messages
Platform emails like the verification invite have their own tab here, editable in your voice.
Drips
Multi-step sequences live in Automations, using the same composer. An email can also fire from any trigger, like a stage change or a form submission.
Coming from Mailchimp
The Mailchimp migration (Settings, then Integrations) lands each of your past campaign designs here as a reusable template, and your contacts arrive with their open and click history. Unsubscribed and bounced addresses arrive permanently suppressed, so the move can never hurt your sending reputation.
Drop {{personal_form_link:your-form}} into any campaign and every recipient gets their own pre-filled form link. One send, a thousand personal invitations. The Forms guide explains personal links.
